Terms and Conditions

1. Scanners;

The scanners sold and programed by A/V and Data Tas are sold as wideband radio receivers. They are programmed with a database that is current at time of

purchase however we do not offer a guarantee on what they will receive.

A/V and Data Tas will provide updates for the frequency files on the scanners for 3 years from the date of purchase, these will be distributed via email or can be done by A/V and Data Tas free of charge. After 3 years we will offer these updates for $10 via email or $25 if done by us. We anticipate that many radio users will be making the switch to digital and using a system called DMR. DMR is currently used by the casino’s, the University of Tasmania as well as a few smaller security firms and the updates will include the new DMR users as they change over.

Currently as of 2/10/2021. Tasmania Police are using a rolling frequency radio system with a digital overlay on some of the talk groups, these channels are extremely difficult to monitor and decode. The radios that we sell have the ability to monitor this system including the ‘open’ digital channels if you purchased the digital unlock key/s option however, If the police switch to another system or they encrypt the network then the radios may not be able to monitor them.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call us on 1800 95 20 20 or email scanners@avdatatas.com
